Springfield… Legislation that would grant concealed carry rights to law-abiding gun owners could be called for a vote by the Illinois House of Representatives this month.

State Representative Adam Brown (R-Decatur) is urging concerned citizens to sign a petition supporting passage of House Bill 5745, the Family and Personal Protection Act. Brown is a co-sponsor of HB 5745, which establishes statewide standards for the issuance of licenses to carry concealed firearms in Illinois. Continue reading »

Decatur… State Representative Adam Brown (R-Decatur) is urging the Illinois House to take action on legislation to extend the lives of Illinois’ enterprise zones.

Representative Brown is the chief House co-sponsor of Senate Bill 3688, which would extend the lives of Illinois’ existing 97 enterprise zones for an additional 25 years. Senate Bill 3688 passed the Illinois Senate unanimously in April, but the bill is currently being held in the House Rules Committee.

“Enterprise zones are great economic development tools to create and retain jobs in Illinois,” Brown said. “Unfortunately, the Decatur/Macon County enterprise zone is set to expire in July 2013. I am sponsoring legislation to extend the lives of our enterprise zones and I urge Speaker Michael Madigan to release Senate Bill 3688 from the Rules Committee so the House can pass the bill on to the Governor for his signature.” Continue reading »
